If you’re into Twitter and have an interest in Masters Swimming in the Southern half of California plus a little piece of Nevada go follow @SPMAupdates.

The majority of the updates will come from me and our SPMA Webmaster Chris. We’ll keep it up to date with Southern Pacific Masters meet info, results, pictures, and anything else important to SPMA. I use twitter, probably a little too much… you can follow me at @smsrob. USMS tweets as well, you can follow them at MastersSwimming.

I was wondering how long it would take USMS to get into the whole Twitter thing. Not everybody likes Twitter, but I’ve been using it for like a year and a half and I really dig it. I use it to share news, links, what I’m up to, and talk to friends. I’m curious to see how they end up utilizing this tool, it’s only as good as you decide to make it. I’m also curious as to who USMS’ tweeter in chief is going to be…

This was posted just recently to both Twitter and Facebook by Mel Stewart (Gold Medal Mel)…

I’m assuming the RS in question is Roque Santos who works for B70 and is currently an active and VERY fast Masters Swimmer.

I’m looking for more substantial confirmation, but as it stands this is very big news!

If you want to follow Gold Medal Mel on Twitter you can do so here

If you’re not into twitter, feel free to ignore me on this one…

Here’s what I’m thinking, all the tech conventions and things like that get a Twitter search hashtag, why not USMS Nationals? I’m going to tag my tweets from nationals with #USMS.

I’ll stop being an internet dork now. Thank you.
