I've checked it against two other thermometers that are accurate. 6 inch long Bala Sharks that are known to be very unruly and boisterous. Works well in my betta tank, but provide a couple hours for it to read temp changes. When and if we run out of this batch, I'll instantly order another batch. You dont HAVE to stick the display onto your tank. Instead she sent a new package of two, both of which work. This company is taking the long term view of how to do business right.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because my betta fish didn't like it. And for the price you cant beat it. I needed a solution that was not breakable and these do the trick! They reviewed the packaging or shipping by saying it arrived broken. These things are useful for a lot besides pet husbandry, too. I have this thermometer on all my tanks. I just wrote it off as a minor loss.

Very impressed, I have now had them in used for a month so far. My only complaint is that they tend to be a one time use. This thermometer is spot on accurate. So much easier than the ones that hang on the inside. Sure enough the digital thermometer was way off by 6 degrees! 6F all six took about three minutes to read between 88. I used to have a large hang in the side tank that you couldn't miss. Simple fix, you adjust the thermometer within the suction cup and VIOLA! Have checked them against the glass thermometers and the accuracy is right on. I don't think they are backlit but for the price they are still nice. It is always where yo last put it and it is very easy to see and read. I used these on a number of my aquariums that have discus fish in them.

I had my heater set at 73-degrees and the thermometers showed 74. This little wonder allows me to see at a glance that everything is as it should be. I use a small flashlight if I don't want to brighten the area. You dont HAVE to stick the display onto your tank. Personally I do not mind the way it looks in my aquarium. I got root rot after light leaks and high water temps. A battery can last you up to six months, I'd say, but expect more like three.

These things are useful for a lot besides pet husbandry, too. It started working as soon as I put it in and has been working ever since. When and if we run out of this batch, I'll instantly order another batch. The suction cups work well anywhere I have placed it it has not Fallen. I'm pretty sure those reviewers have acrylic tanks. Since it is a mercury thermometer, it is very accurate. Then is started to give a low reading, and it is not reading the correct temperature.

The suction works for a month at a time- in pool and hot tub circulation. I was using one of those ubiquitous cheap digital thermometers on Amazon. For the price I'll probably end up putting these in all of my aquariums. Set all six probes up in a terrarium with a constant temp of 88. It worked great and I highly recommend it! You can not swivle the thermometer to face a certain way. The units each had a battery in place and situated for immediate use.
