I’ve really been feeling my workout speed increasing recently. I’ve been doing about 2 days a week with a group in Santa Maria since sometime in mid-May and I’m really getting into a groove with the workouts down there. I used to get completely smoked on a daily basis at first, but now I’m doing a good job of keeping up with the faster kids. I really credit my time swimming with them for the drops in my 100m free.

Here’s today’s workout:

8 x 50 swim
8 x 50 kick
8 x 50 pull

6 x 50 kick w/ fins

200 easy

Repeat x 3
200 pull @3:00
3 x 100 descending @1:30

3200 yards total

Even though my muscles are still pretty smoked from the open water race in Santa Cruz on Saturday they let me really push it today. I think I’m going to try and work in a bonus Santa Maria workout this week.
