I figure I’ll go hard tomorrow and Monday and then coast through the rest of the week. That’s as close to a taper as I’m going to get. I talked to Coach Nancy today on the phone and we talked about getting ready for Clovis, who is staying where, and that type of stuff. She also gave me some ideas for my next couple workouts. I used some of her ideas today at the pool.

Warm Up
400 free
100 kick

Repeat x 2
4 x 50 fly on 1:00
100 easy

2 x 100

50 breast fast
50 free all out sprint

200 cool down

1600 yards total

The yardage isn’t anything to get excited about, but the intensity is all there. Those 50 flys were pretty hard. I just really want to make sure that my butterfly tolerance is high for next week but that I don’t tire myself out too much. I really want to go fast at Clovis.

In other news… if you haven’t seen it, there is an article on the USMS homepage about Michael Heather talking about his role as the VP of Community Services. Micheal is very involved in USMS and I’ve had the pleasure of losing to him in the 100 fly repeatedly across the last year. I recommend you check out the article and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes to keep masters moving along. You have to remember nationally there’s maybe 3 people that get paid to work for USMS, everyone else is a volunteer!

You and Michael need to BATTLE ITout in the 100 fly in Clovis!!

He wants to break a minute – and I know he will!

    Didn’t I predict at least a 57 for you???

    Can’t wait!

    I’m aiming for a 58 which is what I swim my 100 free in… I would totally take a 57 however :)
