Brilliant on the part of b70. Both Speedo and TYR were asleep at the wheel here in supporting Masters the way b70 is.

Also, One has to wonder what sort of suit b70 has coming up next?

TYR has promo that they have the Titan, but will that hurt the Tracer Rise in the long run and does it endorse tacitly endorse the b70 due to the fact that TYR has embraced Yamato Rubber in the same way that the b70 has?

Your the marketer, per around corners for us…

Thanks for getting the word out Rob, and for reminding everyone to include their Masters ID number.

This is a members' only offer–and we don't want just anyone taking advantage of your Master's swimming discount!

We seriously have a huge list that we'll be checking…

We have these suits IN STOCK but I'm guessing the sooner you place your order, the less stressed we'll all be later on!

I think B70 is pretty smart to have spent so much time focused on masters. It isn’t as glamorous as dumping cash into elite level swimmers, but guess who actually PAYS for their suits… masters swimmers! It still blows my mind that Speedo and TYR don’t chase masters swimmers more proactively. We have… money and stuff… the kids and elite swimmers have a tendency to be broke even if they do look better in a speedsuit than a lot of us old people. The amount of money I spend on swimming (suits, traveling, etc.) is pretty absurd when I stop to think about it… I have to say though, the timing couldn’t have been better. B70 announced there would be a USMS discount months ago when they became a sponsor but they waited until a month before nationals to make it happen… I would assume that wasn’t a happy accident.

I’m curious to see how TYR handles the launch of the Rise and the Titan. Personally I think it was a questionable call to start pumping up the Titan before regular people could even buy the Rise. I’m sure internally there is a good reason for it, but they might be killing the Rise’s chances for success because the folks that were waiting to drop $450 on a Rise might just wait for the Titan instead. And frankly who know which suits will be legal shortly or which suits the manufacturers actually ponied up the $25,000 for FINA to test. For the record… I have a crush on my Tracer Light and want a Tracer Rise when I grow up, I just need to rationalize the $450 expenditure.

As far as “endorsing” the B70 by using the same base material, I don’t think you’re going to have that problem. Even if there are some similarities there’s always going to be differences in cut, fit and design. All the high end wetsuits from B70, AquaSphere, Quintana Roo, etc. use the same materials in different ways. Plus I think a lot of consumers aren’t going to be informed to the point that they know what type of fabric is used, they just know it looks fast or their friends have one and like it.

We can hypothesize more this weekend at UCLA…

Eric- good to hear you guys actually have B70′s in stock. I’ve heard a lot of people were having a hard time getting their hands on them recently.

In answer to your question about swimwear companies pursuing masters swimmers, there is real history here.

The truth is that masters swimmers can very be “thrifty”. As in buying swimsuits out of the GRAB BAG sale option.
Not really caring about owning the latest and most beautiful colors, styles and designs.
Not saying all masters, but certainly the majority of them.

BUT! Enter in the tech suit. Proven and demonstrated to increase speed at some level for everyone.

Buying speed is something athletes will do at most any price.
Not saying all of them, but certainly many of them will do it.

We remember the days gone by of swimming lean and mean – and FAST!
Who doesn’t want to get that back?

    I don’t have a B70 yet. I’ve been racing in an FSPro.
But I am LOVING watching the resurgence of swimming enthusiasm -and masters speed!
