Tonight was my last workout before I head down to LA for the meet going on at UCLA on Saturday. If you’re in the area I recommend dropping in and checking it out, deck entries are available. I mixed in some events I normally wouldn’t do just for fun. I’m swimming the 200 IM, 50 Free, 100 Breast, and the 50 Fly. I’ve swam the 100 breast and the 200 IM this season and I’m hoping to drop some time off of each of them. I was dead dog tired when I swam the 200 IM at the end of the Pancake Pentathlon in San Diego, and I think there’s time for the taking in my 100 Breaststroke. If I could go like 2:25 in the IM and 1:11 in the breaststroke that would be a very good day for me. In the 50′s I want to just keep chipping away at my times a tenth here and a hundredth there just like I’ve been doing all season. I’ll be driving down to LA Friday night and staying with a friend. Saturday morning we’ll make our way to UCLA and do some swimming. In theory I should be home sometime Saturday night.
Tonight’s workout was focused on staying loose. I did a few sprints in the middle, and then went back to easy swimming.
