I had the desire to swim a whole lot of yards tonight but my body was not in agreement. My left arm from my elbow to my shoulder is displeased with me. I did about half what I wanted to do… at least I swam I guess. I did however do a set of 8 50′s that I really pushed hard on.

Warm Up
500 free

8 x 50 fast back/free/breast/free

50 kick easy

50 fly sprint

400 cool down

1400 yards total

I think tomorrow is going to be a dryland kind of night. I have a TweetUp that I’m going to be making an appearance at so I won’t have the time to put in a decent swim anyways. If you’re a dork like me and use Twitter you know what I’m talking about. If you’ve never heard of a TweetUp trying to explain it is just going to make me sound like more of a dork. Anyways… I’m off to find some IcyHot and go to bed!

Hey Rob! Dryland nights are never a bad thing – gives the old ears a chance to clear out and the chlorine smell to get out of your skin. This article that talks about Dara Torres’s training methods really gets into the what and why of dryland training – check it out and tell me if you think it is for real or bogus.

Oh, and never hear of a ‘tweetup’ – is that like a ‘shoutout’ in tweetspeak?

I’m not always that excited to do dryland, but I know it’s good for me. If I have my choice I like to get out on the bike, but I haven’t had the time during daylight hours to get it done recently.

I’ll have to check out your article later, I’m about to split for LA to swim at the CalTech Pentathlon tomorrow! Gotta pack and stop playing on the internet.

Btw… a TweetUp is a meeting of people that use Twitter to interact online. It was a pretty fun and we managed to pull together a good crowd.
