**Update: Results for the 2009 Cal Tech Pentathlon have been posted, you can view them here.

This coming Sunday is the CalTech Pentathlon (meet info here) and I need to get cracking. I worked out enough last week but I only made it into the pool once which is way out of the ordinary for me.

Tonight I focused on butterflying. I did a ladder and tried to count my strokes on each length. I generally go 8-9 strokes on my first 25, 10 on my second 25, and 11 to 12 on the 3rd and 4th 25′s. I need to work on my kicking off the walls past 50 yards. I have a hard time holding my breath and my streamline when I’m tired. I think I’ll make some really substantial time drops when I get this under control.

Tomorrow morning I have a meeting in San Luis Obispo and I think that I’m going to try and sneak in a swim at Sinsheimer pool before it. I’m not a morning kind of guy but I have to be awake anyways, plus I hear they run LCM in the morning.

In other news… I got my super awesome Too Much Rock Swim Parka this weekend. Once I get some pictures I’ll get it up on the blog. I’m very excited about my parka!
