That’s how many swimmers are registered for Long Beach this weekend! I got an e-mail from the host club tonight about the meet and here’s the rough time-line:
- Friday is currently scheduled to run from 10:00 AM to 7:15 PM
Saturday is currently scheduled to run from 9:00 AM to 6:55 PM
Sunday is currently scheduled to run from 9:00 AM to 7:46 PM
That’s a pretty serious spread! I think I’m going to keep pretty busy through Saturday but Sunday might not be so hot for me. Since I have such a long drive home on Sunday night I might just split after my 100 butterfly so I get home at a semi-reasonable time… we’ll see.
Psych sheets were posted today and you can find them here. Now that I’ve had a little time to digest the seed times in my age group it would appear that I have my work cut out for me. Good chance I won’t be repeating my 5 for 5 showing at San Luis Obispo… unless I manage to drop 6 seconds per 50 in all my events! In my events I’m seeded towards what I would call the bottom, but ultimately I’m just out to have fun at this meet. I think I’m going to get real serious about the upcoming SCY Nationals in Clovis. I’m much more comfortable in yards and I’ll have had a lot more time back in the pool by the meet in May. Plus I’ve been toying with the idea of increasing my time in the weight room which I think would really help me in the pool.
Tonight I got in a swim that wasn’t as long as I wanted but that was because I had Heidi with me and I took a few breaks to help her with her swimming. She’s really coming along. She did a few lengths of the pool non-stop freestyle. Breathing right is still the sticking point but it’s coming along.
My swim consisted of the following:
200 Cool down
1400 yards total
My swim was a little disjointed but it’ll do! Hopefully I can get a more solid swim in tomorrow.
